Whether you want to improve your reading, writing, or math skills, prepare for education or job training, or build skills you use in everyday life, we can help you work toward your goals.
Everyone starts in a different place, so learning is based on what you want to work on and the skills you want to build. There is no cost for our programs or learning materials.

Burlington English is an online learning program that helps adults build skills for English language learning, education, and the workplace. Learners can work on English skills, digital skills, career readiness, and workforce preparation based on their individual goals.
CCVL also uses Burlington English as part of our WAGE™ certification and workforce readiness programming for eligible learners. |

CCVL utilizes the Barton Learning System that was developed specifically for struggling readers and has proven to help those individuals with their basic education. This system is designed for those with spelling, reading, and writing issues due to dyslexia or a learning disability. It was designed as a multi-sensory, direct, explicit, structured and sequential program designed for intense intervention.

Another of our learning systems is the Laubach collection. The Laubach Way to Reading series is a four–level, time–tested method that has taught millions of adults to read. It is ideal for adult learners who have little or no reading skills and require a uniform, step–by–step approach to reading. This structured, phonics–based series works even with learners who have had negative experiences with other reading programs. |

The Challenger Adult Reading Series has shown great success in introducing the enjoyment reading brings. This eight-level integrated program of reading, writing, and reasoning skills is specifically designed to guide adults and older teens from basic literacy through Pre-GED level.

Getting started doesn't mean you have to know exactly what program you need or where you should begin. We'll help you figure that out.
When you first connect with CCVL, we'll talk about what you'd like to work on and what your goals are. From there, we may use a short assessment to help us find a good starting point and choose learning materials and resources that fit your needs.
Learning looks different for everyone. Depending on your goals, you may work with a volunteer tutor, use one of our online learning programs, work independently with learning materials, or use a combination of resources.
Our programs are free, and we'll work with you to find an approach that fits your goals and where you're starting.
