About Crawford County Volunteers for Literacy

Crawford County Volunteers for Literacy is a community-focused nonprofit serving adults across Crawford County. We believe every adult deserves the chance to grow their skills, reach their goals, support their children, and strengthen their future.

We work with adults who want to build stronger reading, writing, English, math, and everyday literacy skills. Many of our learners come to us carrying big responsibilities… caring for children, managing work, rebuilding after setbacks, or preparing for new goals they’ve never had the support to reach before.

Our role is simple. We meet adults where they are, offer the tools they need to learn, and walk beside them as they build skills that can change the course of a family. Some adults want to read to their children. Others want to prepare for a better job, gain confidence using technology, or start their journey toward citizenship. Every learner’s path looks different, and we honor that.

Our volunteers, donors, and community partners make this work possible. They create a steady place where adults feel welcome, respected, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. When adults gain stronger literacy skills, it strengthens the entire community… workplaces, families, and future generations.

We’re here to make sure every adult in Crawford County has a place to learn, feel supported, and take the next step forward.
Serving Crawford County since 1987.
